Grilled Shishito Peppers

Pan-Seared Shishito Peppers by: Candace

​Ingredients:

• Pint of shishito peppers
• A pinch of Salt
• A pinch of Chili Flakes (optional)
• 2 tsps of sesame oil

Directions:

• Add sesame oil to a pan on medium-high heat. 
• Once heated add the shishito peppers to the pan and give them a brief stir.
• Cover the pan and give it a gentle shimmy (horizontally) on the stove and leave it be for a 2-3 minutes.
• You should hear some sizzling. Give it a little shimmy again and leave it be for another 2-3 minutes.
• Uncover the pan and take a look at your peppers.  
• Lower the heat to medium and give them a little flip with some tongs.
• Let them sauté for a minute then flip to the other side and sauté for another minute.
• Add the chili flakes (if you are exploring that option today to the pan) and some salt. 
• Remove from pan onto a plate and enjoy!
