Grilled Shishito Peppers

Pan-Seared Shishito Peppers by: Candace

Ingredients:

Pint of shishito peppers
A pinch of Salt
A pinch of Chili Flakes (optional)
2 tsps of sesame oil

Directions:

Add sesame oil to a pan on medium-high heat.
Once heated add the shishito peppers to the pan and give them a brief stir.
Cover the pan and give it a gentle shimmy (horizontally) on the stove and leave it be for a 2-3 minutes.
You should hear some sizzling. Give it a little shimmy again and leave it be for another 2-3 minutes.
Uncover the pan and take a look at your peppers.
Lower the heat to medium and give them a little flip with some tongs.
Let them sauté for a minute then flip to the other side and sauté for another minute.
Add the chili flakes (if you are exploring that option today to the pan) and some salt.
Remove from pan onto a plate and enjoy!
